Congratulations on your pregnancy! Once you’ve made your announcements and celebrated the exciting news, it will be time to start planning for your new born’s arrival. It is a hugely exciting time, however it can be daunting for your finances as you start to buy all the things you and the baby will need.

From nappies, to cots, car seats and even child care, the costs can add up quickly. Here at Shepherds Friendly, we know it can be difficult to keep track of your spending when preparing for a newborn, that is why we have created the baby budget planner.

How to use the baby budget planner:

To use the planner, you will need to do a bit of research on the products you need as prices can vary depending on the style and quality. Once you’ve done your research, add your estimated costs into the boxes provided to get an idea of how much you will need to budget. This will help you to work out what you can afford immediately and what you need to save up for. Add each of estimated totals together in each section to discover the total amount of your upfront costs.

As you start buying the things you need for your little one`s arrival, start writing the amount you spend in the “actual” box. This will help you to keep an eye on how much you are spending to see if you need to find extra income or save money on other items in order to afford everything you need.

Tick the “bought” box once you’ve bought each item in a bold pen. This will help you to scan through your baby budget planner easily to see what items you still have left to buy.

We hope you find the budget planner useful and enjoy parenthood!
