This year the Shepherds Friendly Society Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place at their head office on Tuesday 7th July, and now the AGM results are in.
We would like to thank those who attended, as well as everyone who voted online, via post or by proxy. The online voting system, which was opened to all Shepherds Friendly members last year, proved to be a huge success with the society receiving a record number of online votes.
This was Shepherds Friendly’s third meeting to be conducted by the chairman of the Society, Joanne Hindle and first with new CEO Ann-Marie O’Dea. After a general welcome and recap of the minutes from the previous AGM, attendees were offered a report of the Society’s funds and investments over the past year. There was a successful election of two new board members, Justine Morrissey (Executive Director) and Barry Bibby (Non-executive Director) and a re-election of the existing committee members.
Finally the AGM vote was administered and independently scrutinised to ensure both accuracy and fairness.
Shepherds Friendly’s AGM, which is held every year, welcomes members to take part by casting a vote on how the society operates as a business. As a mutual society, Shepherds Friendly belongs to its members and seeks their input on all decisions made.
