Shepherds Friendly has been awarded the Clear & Simple Mark from Fairer Finance, recognising its commitment to providing straightforward, jargon-free financial documents. This accreditation applies to a range of our Stocks & Shares ISA documents, ensuring they meet high standards for clarity, readability, and accessibility.
The Clear & Simple Mark is only awarded to documents that excel in plain language, user-friendly design, and well-structured content that directly addresses key consumer questions. Shepherds Friendly is now among fewer than 20 organisations to have achieved this recognition.
The need for clearer financial communication is evident—according to a 2024 Remitly Global, Inc survey, 65% of UK adults have struggled to understand financial jargon, with over a third saying this confusion has cost them financially. Similarly, a 2023 Ipsos UK survey for Aviva found that seven in ten adults feel puzzled by financial terminology.
This latest recognition follows our recent success in being named ISA Provider of the Year at the MoneyAge Awards 2024. The award recognised Shepherds Friendly’s commitment to listening to its members, including the introduction of quarterly bonus allocations—allowing plan holders to see their investment growth more frequently rather than waiting for an annual update.
Graham Drummond, Head of Communications, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to receive the Clear & Simple Mark from Fairer Finance. This award reinforces our dedication to making financial products easy to understand, removing unnecessary complexity so our members can feel confident in their choices.
Since 1826, putting our members first has been at the heart of everything we do. Alongside our recent ISA Provider of the Year award, this recognition highlights the meaningful steps we’re taking to help members make informed financial decisions.”
