Shepherds Friendly is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Myers as our Chair.
Mark steps into the role on 1st January during an exciting period for the Society, as we implement a new five-year strategy and prepare to celebrate 200 years of serving our members in 2026. Having served as a Non-Executive Director since 2019, Mark takes over from Nemone Wynn-Evans, who concludes her term with the Society.
With an impressive career spanning four decades in financial services, Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Shepherds Friendly. He has held senior leadership positions in both mutual and public organisations, including serving as CEO of British Friendly and Chair of Direct Life and Pensions/LifeQuote. Mark’s contributions to the sector extend further, with roles at LV=, the Association of Financial Mutuals, and as a Committee Member of Huntingdon Racecourse.
Speaking about his appointment, Mark said:
“It’s a privilege to take on the role of Chair at Shepherds Friendly. I want to extend my thanks to Nemone for her exceptional leadership.”
“Shepherds Friendly has thrived for nearly two centuries by staying true to its mutual values while evolving to meet the needs of modern members. I’ve seen firsthand the growth and progress the Society has made, and I’m excited to help guide it toward further success.”
Ann-Marie O’Dea, CEO, added:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Mark as Chair. His contributions as a Non-Executive Director have been invaluable, and his expertise will continue to be a real asset as we grow and adapt to meet the changing needs of our members and the wider market.”
